Baseball in the 1920's was different then baseball now a days. For instance there were less teams and less money, and only some of the teams were really good the rest were not very good. The biggest and most famouse players in the 1920's were Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Walter Johnson, Frankie Frisch, Rogers Hornsby, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Jimmie Foxx, Charlie Gehringer, Goose Goslin, Lefty Grove. These are just a few of them.

In the early 1900's the blacks were not even allowed to play in the minor leagues or development leagues, but that all changed in 1947 when Jackie Robbinson came and played for the Broocklynn Dodgers. The blacks were treated unfairly in the 1920's and the Major League lost alot of tallent by not letting them play.
In the 1920 world series the teams were Cleavland Indians and the Brooklynn Robins (but later the became the Dodgers.) In Game one the Cleavland Indians won in a pitchers duel 3-1. The starter for the Indians was Stan Coveleski and he only gave up 5 hits. But in game two the Robins game back with their ace pitcher Burleigh Grimes came out and pitched a 7 hitter shoutout and the Robins won 3-0.
In game 3 the Robins came out with some momentum and won 2-1 because of their pitcher Sherri Smith who only gave up 3 hits. In game 4 Clevlands ace Coveleski started again, and he pitched agaist Leon Cadoer, who pitched a 26 inning game just 5 months before, and he only pitched 1 inning in a 5-1 loss. So now the series is tied 2-2.
But in game 5 the Cleavland Indians's bats came to live when in the first inning a young 28 year old Elmer Smith hit a grand slam (which was the first gland slam ever in a world series game.) So now it was 4-0 till the 4th inning when pitcher Jim Bagby of the Indians hit a 3 run home run to make the score 7-0. Then the Robins were in a good position to score with 2 runners in scoring postition when Clerence Mitchell hit a sharp line drive to Bill Wambsganss who completed a triple (unassisted). The ending score of the game was 8-1 for the Indians. In game 6 and 7 the Cleavland shoutout the Robins to win the World Series.

In the 1922 World Series Babe Ruth and Bob Muesal both were suspended for some of the 1922 season and the Babe didn't start playing until May 20th and his stats plumited complettly as a result. But that didn't stop the Yankees from wining another American Leauge Championship and a rematch agaist the New York Giants in the World Series. The Giants went on to win their 2nd consecutive title, because of their pitching. Their pitchers were so good at shutting down the Yankees powerful linup.
In the 1923 World Series the New York Giants and the New York Yankees met for their 3rd consecutive World Series, but this year the Yankees were favored to win after wining the American Champiship by 16 games and haveing home feild advantage. The Babe was back after having a poor season in 1922 and he was tied in home runs with a guy in philly with 41 and hitting over .350. Then the Senators won the next 2 out of 3 games, so now the series was tied 2-2. Then Johnson pitched game 5 and gave up 13 hits, 4 by Freddy Lindstrom in a devestating 6-2 loss. The Senetors stayed alive because of a great game from Bucky Harris (who hit in 2 runs on a single in the 5th) the Sentors won 2-1 to force a game 7. In game 7 the Giants looked like they were going to win another Championship with a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the 8th inning, but then 18 year old Fredy Lindstrom had a crucle error on third base on a routine ground ball, and because of that the Senators scored 2 runs to tie it at 3. It stayed a tie till the 12th inning until the Giants made 2 more errors on routine plays, and Johnson finnally had a good outing in relife and the Senators won 4-3, whice gave them their first Championship.
In the 1925 World Series the Senators came back to play the Pittsburg Pirates, after beating the Giants a year before the Senators came into this series still hot and won game 1 easily. But the Pirates won game 2 3-2 because of the arm of Vic Aldridge and the bat of Kiki Cuyler. The Senators won game 3, then the Pirates won game 4. So now the sereis was tied at 2 games a piece. The Pirates also won game 5 with a 3-2 victory, but the Senators came with Rookie second baseman Eddie Morre who had a home run in the eigth to win. Now the series was tied at 3 games a piece and.
